For the past 22 years I have had a number of roles as both Executive and Non Executive Chairman as well interim and turnaround roles as CEO and COO specialising in rapid change situations including acquisitions, exits and turnarounds across the whole of the construction sector. I have worked with a variety of Boards as a mentor and influencer and provide advice based on considerable experience over a wide range of business issues. I have managed relationships with shareholders, banks and other advisers.
Seven years with bpha as non exec Chair transforming the business from a traditional Housing Association into a commercially focused business with the highest Gross Margin in the sector. Dealing with the Banks head on who were always trying to change the rules and oversaw a £200m bond placement that was considerably oversubscribed.
Over seven years with Birse Group established a new region from scratch to £100m turnover and 200 staff with the best profit and safety record in the Group. Involved in the successful flotation with a full listing on the LSE.
Working successfully with a number of Banks in turnaround situations where both banks and shareholders were satisfied. Even worked with RBS Global Re Structuring and delivered a solvent company to the shareholders over a 12 month period.
