Alexander Werner is Managing Director of gunnercooke Consulting GmbH and combines legal excellence with an entrepreneurial perspective. After more than a decade as a specialist solicitor and founder of a law firm in Hamburg, he has focused on how companies can structure their transport and logistics operations in a way that is strategic, legally sound and operationally efficient.

His focus today is on advising companies, insurers and logistics service providers on the development of robust business and supply chain models: from the design of international transport and contractual frameworks, through risk and claims strategies, to the implementation of digital and organisational improvements.

Alexander brings to the table a rare combination of in-depth expertise in transport and freight forwarding law, practical experience from over 600 client engagements, and his own entrepreneurial experience as a founding partner and managing partner. For clients, this means consulting that consistently integrates legal risks, economic objectives and operational realities.

• insurers and underwriters with a strong focus on transport and liability risks.

• holistic transport and logistics strategies (network, partners, contracts, governance),
• risk management and claims concepts that combine legal enforceability with economic rationality,
• programmes to reduce loss ratios and litigation costs,
• frameworks for customs, import and compliance issues throughout the supply chain.

The focus is always on implementation: Alexander supports clients not only in the design phase, but also in the implementation within structures, systems and daily processes – often in close collaboration with the legal teams at gunnercooke.

Development of standard frameworks for transport and logistics contracts (including ADSp and CISG structures), which now serve as the basis for group-wide logistics and procurement strategies.
